Gordon Douglas Reno was born on May 27th, 1942 to Mary Sherman Reno and Herb Reno in Pueblo Co.  He spent most of his childhood in Co, he spent his teen years in Ames Iowa where he graduated from high school. He went on to Iowa state and completed 2 years before he was drafted into the army and was sent to Vietnam.  Where he was shot and injured, afterwards he would return to Co where he received his honorable discharge.  Soon afterwards he would meet and marry, Nancy Perrine Reno, who was happily by his side for 54 years.  They enjoyed traveling and exploring new places together.  They raised one biological child and four native children from the Sioux Lakota tribe.  Gordon worked for many years as a master general contractor, and real estate agent. However what he enjoyed most was being a cowboy and guiding people through the wind river range.  Gordon was a true family man who enjoyed passing along his wisdom, and or tall tales, and of course enjoyed tipping back some cold ones with good friends.  He is preceded in death by his mother Mary Sherman Reno, father Herb Reno and adopted son Charlie Reno.  He is survived by his wife Nancy Reno, daughter and her fiance Rebecca Reno and Devin Penrose, adopted son Casey spotted calf Reno, adopted daughter Lynne Braveheart Reno, grandchildren Keira Linn, Zane Petersen, Casey Key, great grandchild Braxton Kyle Reno M., brother Charles Reno and his sister Beth Reno.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 17th 2024, at Big Horn Mountain Eagles 1760 Commercial Ave, Sheridan, WY 82801 beginning at 2PM. Military Funeral Honors will be held at 3PM followed by a taco bar, Gordon’s favorite!
