Donald Frederick Wall passed away at the Green House in Sheridan, Wyoming on March 10, 2020. Don was born on June, 30 1930 to Fred and Viva Wall in Brawley, California. He graduated from Brawley High School in 1948 and went on to graduate from El Centro Junior College. Don married Jean Gill on February 23, 1951. Soon after he was drafted by the army for the Korean War. After basic training in Fort Ord, California, he was stationed in Anchorage, Alaska where Jean joined him. They lived there for 2 years. They returned to Brawley, California where he worked for the county as an agricultural inspector. Their children Donna Kay (1955) and Bruce Gill (1962) were born there. Don transferred to the San Luis Obispo area in 1964 and continued as an agricultural inspector for several years. They moved to Orange, California where Don worked in Agricultural Product Sales and Corporate Farm Management until he finally started farming on his own. He farmed 85 acres of strawberries for 20 years. Don loved sports and spent many years coaching Babe Ruth Baseball and Little League Baseball, even before Bruce was old enough to play. Don and Jean enjoyed traveling, especially to Sheridan, Wyoming where Jean is originally from. They both loved the mountains and the small town atmosphere so they decided to retire in Sheridan. They were lucky to find a home they both loved and moved to Sheridan in December of 2004. Shortly after moving, they realized they had the best neighbors in the world. Don is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Jean, as well as 2 children, 9 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Don is preceded in death by his parents Viva Wall and Fred Wall, stepmother Daisy Wall, father-in-law Harold Hill, mother-in-law Lillian Young, only sibling Hazel Fisher, and brother-in-law Freeman Fisher. There will be a celebration of life with military honors on July 17, 2020 at 11:00 am at Kane Funeral Home, 689 Meridian Street, Sheridan, WY 82801.
