Ann Marie Greeley
About:
ANN MARIE GREELEY, born Monday, April 20, 1931 in Jersey City New Jersey died Sunday, September 13, 2026, in Sheridan, Wyoming, at age 95.
Ann was the daughter of Cornelius and Gertrude Bickens. She grew up being called Annie, in a large, lively family alongside her siblings Margie, Georgie, Millie, Bobby, Artie, Joey, and Rosie (now the only surviving sibling).
Though her formal education ended at eighth grade, she possessed a sharp mind and taught herself what she needed to know. Over her working years, Ann held several jobs that suited her resourceful nature. In her late
teens/early 20’s, she worked in Jersey City at Stanley Laundry. After leaving the city to raise her family on the Jersey Shore, Ann sold hot pretzels for a parking lot vendor. She later became the Executive Housekeeper at Ramada
Inn in Treasure Island, Florida—work she took seriously and performed with care.
But Ann's real talents emerged in the life she built away from work. She loved homemaking, party planning and hostessing...she had a knack for all of it...She loved life; creating warm, welcoming spaces wherever she lived and
whatever celebration she was planning. Ann made every holiday magical with her decor, then following up with food and gifts for all! All who were there will remember the chip clips! Ann’s loved ones also knew her as someone
strong-willed and creative, with a warm heart and a pure spirit that she maintained throughout her long life.
Ann enjoyed bowling, traveling, and most of all, family time—she sure liked to keep life interesting. Ann stayed in shape her whole life by drinking lots of water, walking, and keeping active. Those who knew her well had nicknames
for her such as ‘ Miss Perfect Ann’, ‘Mother Nature’, and ‘She-Who-Must-Be-Obeyed’—each one capturing a different facet of her character. She instilled in her children values and social graces to know right from wrong.
For years, Ann hosted most holidays, enjoying her role as the matriarch of our family...a large blended family that gave Ann 8 grandchildren. The first five were born to her daughters. From Linda came Heidi and Misty. Cliff,
Annie and Jesse were born to Donna. The oldest three - Chris, Anita and Alisha joined the family through Ann’s son-in-law, Dale. Collectively, these grandchildren made her ‘Great Gram’ to lots of great-grandkids. Some of
them now have offspring of their own, making her ‘Great-GREAT-Gram!’ Ann treasured the loving bonds that were nurtured over the years with her family and friends. She even got to bond with a good many of the great-
grandchildren. In her later years, she often asked about them...even the ones she never got to meet! She called her daughters and son-in-law every night to say goodnight and blow them a kiss!
Those who were able to be with Ann in her last days were so dedicated to her with their time, love and support. With their help, Ann was able to enjoy hearing from lots of loved ones through the telephone lines. She continued
expressing her love and gratitude until the very end of her long, fulfilling life. She cherished each and every one of her loved ones...near and far.
Ann is survived by her children, sister, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces, along with their respective families. She also leaves behind numerous dear friends she made along her life’s journey.
She was preceded in death by her parents, six siblings, too many nephews and nieces, and many lifelong friends. Ann Marie Greeley loved people and was loved by all. She will be deeply missed. Please join us in celebrating her life.
