Wyona “Ony” M. Northrop, 81, of Sheridan, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2019, at the Westview Health Care Center.Ony was born on August 22, 1937, to James \'D\' Poston and Opal Lucille (Sutton) Poston in Gardena, CA. She grew up on various ranches around Laramie, WY. During WWII, the family moved to California where her father worked in the shipyards working on US ships for the war effort. She married Robert (Bob) B. Northrop on September 30, 1956. They had been married 61 years until Bob\'s death in 2018.Ony was the ultimate connection of all extended family and a wonderful mother for “all” her children. Her passions being family and friends. She was a talented artist which earned her a scholarship at the University of Wyoming. The great hostess of many meals. She had many talents, the most important being able to shower others with love.Ony was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and siblings. She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Northrop of Sheridan, WY; son, Todd Northrop of Newport, KY and his two children, Jade and Tanner; her sister-in-law, Sue Poston of Florence, OR; her brother-in-law, John (Colleen) Northrop of Sturgis, SD and many nieces and nephews.No services are planned at this time. Her children and grandchildren will celebrate her life at a later date.In lieu of flowers, a donation to a children\'s charity would be wonderful.Kane Funeral Home has been entrusted with local arrangements.
