Thomas David Stroup,68, of Sheridan, passed away in his home May 16, 2017. He was born on July 12, 1948, in Sheridan, WY, to parents Chester and Betty (Michels) Stroup. In 1969, Tom joined the Army National Guard and then transferred to the Army in 1970 through 1971, serving in Vietnam. He then returned to the Army National Guard for another 2 ½ years. Tom enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and working on the farm with his horses. He worked for the post office in Sheridan, WY, until he retired, after he retired he started his dream of owning his own business. He bought Big Horn Base Camp LLC Valley Tree Service, 18 years ago and after 10 years of working in the outdoors he bought Pablos and ran his own restaurant with his family by his side. He was a hard working man until he was called upon by the Angels who said he was ready for his wings.Tom is survived by his wife Cindy, 2 siblings Sue and Harry, 6 children, Shane 44, Chris 34, Charlie 34, Kara 33, Kyle 31, Hannah 32 , and his 8 grandchildren Ethan 8, Connor 12, Enoch 10, Skye 9, Hunter 4, Zoey 3, Odinn 2, Carter 6 months. A viewing will be held at 10:00 a.m. with Military Honors at 11:30 on Saturday, May 20, 2017. An Inurnment will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2017, in the Sheridan Elks Memorial Cemetery.If anyone would like to make a donation please contact any family member.Kane Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
