Sandy Schofield was born in Mammoth, AZ on July 9, 1945 to Elgin and Caroline Poindexter. She passed away in Sheridan, WY on August 22, 2026. She attended school in San Manuel, AZ and later in Pittsburg California where she graduated from high school. She then went to college to learn how to run punch card computers. She went to work for Libby can foods as a punch card operator in San Francisco, Ca. This is where she met her husband, Richard Schofield. They were married on April 9, 1965. Richard and Sandy moved to Gillette, WY in the early 70’s where Sandy was active in the community. She worked for the City of Gillette for several years. After her etirement she served on the Board of Directors for Campco Federal Credit Union.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years Richard Schofield of Gillette WY, sister Judy Dallman of Tucson AZ, Son Jeff Schofield of Lincoln Nebraska, Daughter Cheryl (Nate) Johnson of San Manuel, AZ, Daughter Carol (Steve) Yates of San Manuel AZ, Grand Daughter Maddison Bailey-Schofield of Yarman MA, Grand Daughter Shelby Johnson of Porter OK, Grandson Thomas Yates of San Manuel AZ, great grand son Jullian Ramirez of Porter OK, Nephew Bill Beaudoin of Las Vegas NV and Neice Crystal (Woody) Rast of San Tan Valley AZ.

Private services will be held at a later date in AZ per her request.

Champion Kane Funeral Home has been entrusted with local arrangements.
