Samuel Wesley Rozell was born August 22, 1945 in Reno, Nevada to Henry and Alice (Day) Rozell. He left this world Sept 29, 2018 in Sheridan, Wyoming.He attended school in Genoa, Nevada until the school closed. He then attended the Gardnerville/ Minden schools. He attended high school in Fallon, Nevada.Sam was a cowboy. He started working on his first ranch at the age of 17. He trained horses, ran a mule train to take supplies to Basque sheep herders and was a big game guide. He worked in the oil fields until an injury caused him to retire. In his retirement he taught young people how to \"cowboy\".Sam served in the Army during the Vietnamese conflict. He was wounded in Cambodia prior to the government admitting American boots were on the ground. He received an honorable discharge March 10, 1970.He is survived by daughters Billie Jo Taylor (James), Lisa Rozell-Rich , and sons Sam Rozell, and Scott Rozell. He is also survived by grandchildren: Ashley and Jared Rich, Cole and Lora Taylor and 3 sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Steven Rozell. A private family service will be held in the spring.Kane Funeral Home has been entrusted with local arrangements.
