Robert (Bob) Merrill Pooley Sr. passed away from esophagus cancer peacefully at the Veterans Administration Medical unit on August 28, 2025 at the age of 75 years old.

He was born on October 29, 1949 to Robert E. and Arlene (Hebrew) Pooly in Sheridan, Wyo.

He was later joined by a sister Kathy.

He joined the Army his Sr, year of Highschool in 1969 and was discharged in 1972 at the rank of Specialist E-4 at Fort Carson, Colo. He also received his GED in 1969-1970 he servced in Bomberg, Germany, and in 1971 he went to Vietnam. His duties were as a Gunner on an M42 Duster.

On May 20, 2006 he married the love og his life Peggy (Driskill) at the First Christian Church in Sheridan, Wyo and they were married for 19 years.

Bob was a kind soul and everyone who knew him loved him. He was an excellent cook and he spoiled Peggy rotten. A Father's Day tradition was hanging out in Thermopolis at the Star Plunge and enjoying the Hot Spot Car Rally.

He and Peggy adopted rescue Papillons, over the years as well as a chihuahua and 2 cats. He and Peggy loved their pets.

He was the Maintenance Director at Sheridan Manor for 2 years and also at the Greenhouse Living for Sheridan for 7 years and he retired in 2018. All of the residents adored Bob because he always made them feel special with his sweet personality.

He was an excellent carpenter and could build or repair anything. He worked for over 30 years with his best friend Terry Anderson.

He wasa wonderful person and will be missed by everyone who knew him.

He was proceeded by his parents, grandparents, sister and an infant son. He is survived by his wife Peggy, His son Robert (Rob) Pooley Jr. of Buffalo, Wyo his wife Aimee, and 4 children, Edward, Clara, Rebecca and Eva and 5 great-grandchildren, and a daughter JoAnn(Pooley) Bedecs of Sask. Canada and also a cousin Beth Hebrew of Sheridan.

He was cremated and a family burial will be at Custer Battlefield National Cemetery.
