Ralph Howard Knode Jr.  89, of Sheridan died on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at the Sheridan VA Medical Center.  Ralph was born on November 26, 1927 in Philadelphia, PA to Ralph and Marion (Head) Knode.  He attended the Hotchkiss School and graduated from Episcopal Academy, and attended Amherst College.  Ralph enlisted in the Air Force in 1950.  He served in the Korean War as a Radar Observer.  He married Judith Mary O\'Neill on April 30, 1955 in St. Paul, MN.  In 1962  they moved to Sheridan, WY.  Ralph ranched in Big Horn, Jim Creek and Murphy Gulch.Ralph enjoyed hunting in North America and Africa.  He was past Trustee and sponsor of Ducks Unlimited, Life Member of the NRA and Safari Club International and a member of Holy Name Catholic Church.  Ralph was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous for thirty two years. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents.  He is survived by his wife Judy of Sheridan, WY , children Ralph H. (April) Knode III of Whitney, NE, Tracy (Bill) Hamil of Denver, CO, and Marc Knode of Sheridan, WY.  Also, his grandchildren Tucker, Brett, Cody, great grandchildren Mitchell, Kenadee, Liam and McKenna.   A Rosary will be at 7:00 pm on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Kane Funeral Home with Deacon Joe Kristufek officiating.  A Memorial Mass will be at 10:00 am on Friday, March 10, 2017 at Holy Name Catholic Church with Father Whewell and Deacon Joe Kristufek officiating.  A reception will follow in the Parish Hall.  Memorials to honor Ralph can be made to Holy Name School,  121 South Connor, Sheridan, WY 82801 or to the CASA Franciscana Outreach, PO Box 15576, Scottsdale, AZ 85267. info@theoutreach.org.
