Mary R. (Prentice) Mattson, Born: August 19, 1920, Died: November 14, 2019Mary was born in Rochester, MN to Boyd and Hallie Kline in August of 1920. She shared life with two brothers, Boyd, Jr. and Timothy. The family later moved to Medford, Or. where shemet and married the love of her life, John E. Prentice. They had twin girls, Leila and Leah then moved the family to Bend, Or.Too soon the girls left home to pursue lives of their own. John died and Mary was truly an \"empty nester\". Her defining characteristic, a positive attitude, helped her move on. Sheremarried and moved to Yarnell, Az. She remained in Az several years even though her marriage ended. At the age of 80, she was ready to leave AZ. With the help of family, shemoved to Sheridan, Wy. She thrived as she enjoyed new friends, playing cards, reading, coloring, and eating out.She is survived by her daughters, Leila Prentice (Lou Darby) and Leah Olafson (Bob Olafson); grandsons Stuart Tannehill and Erik Olafson; great-grandchildren, Leah Bush (Dru Bush), SamTannehill, Jordan Hilling and Chloe Kraft. She was preceded in death by her parents, Boyd and Hallie Kline, brothers Timothy and Boyd Jr. Kline, granddaughter Kristin Kraft, and nephewCurtis Kline.Mary was a woman who loved family, people, and laughing. Her upbeat, positive approach to life contributed to her 99 years of happy living. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her familyand friends.A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 19, 2019, in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery with Pastor Chuck Small officiating.Kane Funeral Home has been entrusted with local arrangements.
