Marilyn Mae Morris, born on June 14, 1944, in Billings, Montana, passed away peacefully in Sheridan, Wyoming, on October 20, 2024, at the age of 80. A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Marilyn was known for her stubborn yet caring nature, which endeared her to all who knew her.

Marilyn dedicated 32 years of her life to serving the community through her work at the City of Sheridan Water Department. Outside of her professional life, she found joy in a variety of hobbies. She was an avid quilter and craft enthusiast, and she loved spending time outdoors in the beautiful Big Horn Mountains where she camped, fished, and rode three-wheelers and snowmobiles. She also enjoyed bowling and playing cards with friends at the HUB.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her loving husband, Burt Morris; father, John Ostermiller; mother, Martha Rider; sisters, Irene Frank and Elenor Frank; and brothers, John Ostermiller and Harvey Ostermiller.

She leaves behind a family that cherishes her memory: daughters, Lorie (John) Ordiway and Renae Morris; sons, Robert Morris, John Morris, and Dale (Patty) Dobrowski; grandchildren, Colter Mouw, Jannelle Ordiway, Max Dobrowski, Amber Ordiway, Jayden Morris, and Cole Dobrowski and; bonus grandchildren, Courtney (Dustin) Gunnels, Justin (Kaylee) Morris; 5 bonus great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Senn and sisters-in-law Lola Ostermiller and Lorraine Ostermiller; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

A service to celebrate Marilyn's life will be held on November 16, 2024, at 11:00 am at Kane Funeral Home, followed by a lunch gathering at Kane Funeral Reception Hall.

We encourage attendees to bring their best stories, their warmest hugs, and perhaps a deck of cards.

Marilyn’s warmth, kindness, and determined spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

In lieu of flowers donations in Marilyn’s name can be made to the Dog and Cat Shelter, 84 East Ridge Road, Sheridan, WY 82801.
