Marie Swinyer
About:
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of May “Marie” Swinyer, who peacefully went to be with our lord and savior on July 17, 2026 at Westview HealthCare Center. She was surrounded by the love of her family. She was 82years old.
May “Marie” was born March 6, 1944 in Missouri to Truman and Elsie Stiles.
She spent her childhood in Missouri where she attended school before beginning the beautiful journey in Sheridan Wyoming that would define the rest of her life.
On May 13, 1960, she married the love of her life Clifford E. Swinyer in Sheridan, Wyoming. Together they built a home filled with love, laughter, faith and family. Their marriage was one of devotion and partnership, creating a legacy that continue through generations. Marie dedicated her life to caring for others. She worked as a nurse's aide and a teachers aide in Sheridan. Whether caring for patients, helping children learn or supporting those around her, she gave her whole heart to everything she did.
To know Marie was to know unconditional love. She found her greatest joy in simple moments camping beneath the stars, tending her garden, canning the harvest she loved to grow, and preparing home cooked meals that brought everyone together. Her home was always a place of comfort where no one left hungry and everyone was welcomed with open arms.
More than anything Marie treasured her family. Being a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a great-great-grandmother was the greatest blessing of her life.
She celebrated every milestone, offered wisdom though life's hardships, and loved each member of her family with fierce and unwavering heart.
The memories she created will forever live on in those who were fortunate enough to know her.
She leaves behind a family who will forever cherish her memory; Jennifer (Jim) Swinyer-Hughs, Lauri Stanger, Clifford D. (Judy) Swinyer, and Melissa Swinyer, 12 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren. Along with numerous nieces and nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were forever touched by her kindness.
May “Marie” was preceded in death by her beloved husband Clifford E. Swinyer, her parents Truman and Elise Stiles, her brother and her 3 sisters and 2 grandsons.
