Ethel Marcelee Nelson, 92 (known by Marcelee) of Sheridan Wyoming, passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, from COVID-19. Marcelee was raised on the WS Ranch in Wyarno, WY by her parents Ethel and Andy Nelson. She enjoyed riding horseback to Dow School and then attended Plum Creek School, eventually graduating Sheridan High School in 1946. Marcelee then attended University of Wyoming and pledged Pi Beta Phi. While at the University she got news that she was elected Rodeo Queen. She was Bots Sots Stampede Rodeo Queen in 1948, a roll she loved and that led to her careers with the Wyoming Travel Bureau and eventually Wyoming Game and Fish.She married and had two children, Denise and Michael Henry. Survivors include her son, Mike Henry, of Harvard NB, her granddaughter Renée Euler, of Denver CO and Renée’s husband Mike and their children (Marcelee’s great-grandchildren) Elise and Blake Euler.Marcelee was preceded in death by her daughter, Denise Henry, her brother Lonnie Nelson and her parents O. Andrew Nelson and Ethel A. Nelson (Wood). Cremation has taken place. Private interment will take place in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the organization of the donor’s choice.Kane Funeral Home has been entrusted with local arrangements.
