View Service FolderLuRee Dowdy, 84, of Dayton, was called home by her heavenly father on Saturday, August 20, 2016, at the Sheridan Memorial Hospital. She was born on March 7, 1932, in Sheridan to parents Harvey Benjamin and Pearl Geraldine (Blane) Gaster. She graduated from Dayton High School in 1950.LuRee enjoyed playing cribbage and pinochle with friends, gambling at casinos, horse racing, gardening and of course her family and friends. She was a member of the Tongue River Branch Library “Library Ladies”, Tongue River Valley Community Center Board, TOPS #196 of Wyoming and a lifetime member of the Dayton Benefit Club.LuRee was preceded in death by her parents, brother Harvey Gerald Gaster, husband Walter Robert “Bob” Dowdy and by her companion Louis Tippets. She is survived by her son Dan Dowdy of Dayton, WY and her “daughter by Grace” Sherri Bensfield, IN.Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2016, at the Dayton Community Church with Pastor Matt Tremain officiating. A Reception to follow at the Dayton Community Hall.In lieu of flowers donations to honor LuRee may be made to the Tongue River Valley Community Center at P.O. Box 792, Ranchester, WY 82839.
