Lois Lorraine Epp
About:
Lois married her sweetheart James on December 9th,1950. Together they had 3 children Dan, Debra, and Donna.
Lois was widowed as a young woman when James died only 8 short years after they were married. It was at this time that Lois took her 3 young children by herself across the United States from Pennsylvania to California to be closer to her family there.
Lois was a very petite and soft spoken woman, but she had an inner strength that was truly unmatched. She devoted herself fully to her Lord and children, never remarrying.
Her children always said they had the best mom... and they did. She loved them with everything within her. Through the years, she experienced more loss and hardship, yet you would never know it from the way her love and faith shone through her at all times.
When her children became adults and began having children, Lois became the most amazing Grandmother. Loving and caring for her grandchildren in a way that we all consider ourselves the luckiest, most blessed grandchildren alive. Everyone wanted a Grandma like ours and she welcomed each and every one of them into her heart whether they were 2yrs old or 82yrs old. A heart so full of love, Grandma didn’t know a stranger and everyone felt as if they had known her forever after only a few moments with her.
As a child Lois found her church, The Salvation Army, and it remained her church until the day she died. She found belonging, strength, and service of the Lord through The Salvation Army. It is hard trying to sum up a life so fully lived, but if I had to make it in only a few sentences it would be this...Lois loved the Lord with all her heart, with all her soul, and with all her mind. She loved, Supported, and encouraged her family endlessly, both biological and adopted. She loved her Salvation Army, her Facebook community, and her sweets.
Lois is preceded in death by her husband (James Epp), mother and father (Gertrude and Harry Mills), all (6) of her brothers, her beloved daughter (Debra Epp), her grandson (James Epp), and her great-grandson (Sean Epp).
Her legacy lives on in her son (Dan Epp), daughter (Donna Stallings), adopted daughters (Carol Epp and Kim Soltice), her grandchildren (Lisa, Jason, Paul, Cedra, Amy, Daniel, Eric), her great grandchildren (Meagan, Ellie, Zack, Jeremy, Sienna, Jackson) and her great great grandchildren (Callie, Isabella).... And so many more whom adopted her as Grandma.
A Service in Honor of the Compassionate Life lived by Lois Epp will be held in May of 2026. Service details will be announced at a later date.
