Kathryn Joy Howard
About:
On November 14, 2025, in Sheridan, Wyoming, God welcomed Kathryn Joy Howard, 70, into his heavenly arms, relieving her of her pain. Kathryn was born on December 8, 1954, in Nampa, Idaho to Rev. George & Bonnie Snyder. She was the oldest of three children.
While attending school in Cody, Wyoming, Kathryn met and married Everett Paul Noonkester. Together they welcomed a daughter, Heidi Joy. They shared three years of marriage before Everett’s passing in 1974.
In 1976 Kathryn was blessed to find love again with Dennis and they married that same year. Together they built a loving home and welcomed Bridget Annette, Tammy Elizabeth, and Teresa Christine. For 49 years, Dennis and Kathy created a life filled with love, laughter and faith while raising their four daughters in Whitefish, Montana. As their daughters grew and began families of their own Kathryn and Dennis later returned to Sheridan, Wyoming to be closer to family.
Kathryn’s family was the center of her world. She loved making each person feel special. She loved to make her girl's birthday days super special. Her birthday cakes were always unique and special. Her girls often remember her beautiful singing as she cooked or cleaned, her playful teasing and her joyful silliness.
She often said her “golden years” were the years she spent raising her daughters. She loved being both a mom and a wife. Kathryn delighted in family activities, whether a simple mountain picnic, drive-in movie, a boating trip, or a family movie night. She made every occasion special and memorable. A talented cook and baker, she could create a meal out of anything and was known for her delicious pies, breads, and cookies.
She loved being a caregiver and was a CNA for years. She enjoyed the bond she created with each one and enjoyed sharing the word of God with them. There wasn’t a day that went by that she didn’t read her bible.
Though she is no longer with us, Kathryn leaves behind memories of generosity, a caring spirit, and the laughter she brought to every room. She will be deeply missed and forever held in the hearts of those who loved her.
Kathryn is survived by her daughters: Heidi Gerleman (Shane), Bridget Gerleman (Shuan), Tammy Cornett (Mike), Teresa Emmert (Micah). 12 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; her brother Ron Snyder (Lenita), her sister Cindy Barnes; 3 nephews; 1 niece.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands, one grandson; and one brother-in-law.
