Kathryn Jo Daly
About:
Kathryn Jo Daly, known to many as Kathy, passed away on September 3, 2024, in Sheridan, Wyoming, at the age of 66.
Born Kathryn Morgan on June 8, 1958, in Mansfield, Ohio, Kathy moved to Wyoming with her family at the age of 10. She attended high school in Big Horn, where she met the love of her life, Ray Daly. The two were married on June 25, 1975, in Big Horn, beginning a life of shared adventures and cherished memories.
Kathy was known for her love of kayaking, scenic mountain drives, long conversations with loved ones, and her appreciation for a good cup of coffee. She had a passion for travel, enjoying special trips with the Nicholas family to places like the Dominican Republic, Belize, Costa Rica, Alaska, Captiva Island, and New York. Her favorite journey was to New Zealand, Australia, and Fiji, which she shared with her husband Ray.
A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Kathy spent many years as a stay-at-home mom before she and Ray pursued their dream of building their own cattle herd.
During this time, she began working for Neltje in the late 1980s, where her hard work and dedication led her to rise to the position of general manager. Kathy’s remarkable versatility and work ethic shone through as she took on numerous roles, managing everything from human resources, cooking, housekeeping, art management, to travel coordination, and of course Turned Antiques, etc. She was a natural leader who always led by example, never above any task, and tackling every challenge with determination and grace.
In 2022, Kathy was diagnosed with stage IV metastatic triple-negative breast cancer. True to her nature, she faced the diagnosis with calm determination, always exploring the next treatment option and fighting until the very end. She did not allow the cancer to take her, instead succumbing to a massive heart attack. Even facing this grave situation, she remained steadfast, directing paramedics and making critical decisions in her final hours.
Kathy is survived by her loving husband, Ray Daly; her daughter, Nancy Kessler; her granddaughter, McKinley Kessler; her great-grandchildren by heart, Kash Myers, Hayzen Myers, Laney Baker, and Bennett Baker; her siblings; and numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.
Her presence will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
