Joyce Robinson Barnes, age 62, died unexpectedly in the early morning hours on Tuesday, May 2nd from heart complications.

Joyce is survived by her mother, Bernice Robinson; her sister Susan Robinson-Branum; her brothers Eugene, Mark, and Tracy; her daughter, Marisa and husband David; four grandchildren: Bradford, Lucie, Zander, and Aurora; and multiple nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Rodney.

Joyce was born and lived in the Dakotas, where she graduated from high school and worked at the Bank of Lemmon for many years, until she relocated to Wyoming in 2000. She lived the majority of the last years of her life in Julesburg, CO where she worked as a custodian and at the grocery store.

In 2021, she moved back to live with her daughter in Wyoming due to complications with her heart that ultimately led to emergency open heart surgery where she had two heart valves replaced. She didn’t let that stop her from enjoying her last two years keeping up with her grandchildren, whether it was playing hide-and-seek, catch, or a game of dominoes, or cheering them on at events.

A celebration of life will be held at Marisa and David’s place in Sheridan, Wyoming, (17 Piper Road) on June 24th at 2 pm. Flowers, donations, and condolences may also be sent to 17 Piper Road, Sheridan, WY 82801.
