Joshua Paul Malmberg (Josh), 50, of Sheridan, WY, went to his heavenly home in August of 2026, at Banner Health Wyoming Medical Center surrounded by his loving family after a lengthy illness.

Born in Minnesota in 1975, to John and Rayna Malmberg, Josh was the middle of two brothers. At an early age, Josh moved with his family to Cody, WY, where he graduated from Cody High School. Josh attended the University of Wyoming, where he graduated with a degree in zoology. While at college, he was active in Intervarsity Christian Fellowship, where he met the love of his life, Debra Lorraine.

After getting married, Josh and Debbie lived in Denver, CO, before moving to Powell, WY, where they had their first son, Dokken.

Josh was offered a job with the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality in Sheridan, where he worked until his passing. While in Sheridan, they were blessed with three additional children: daughter Reagan and sons Owen and Aaron.

Josh worked at the DEQ for 19 years, where he was praised for his excellent work and was beloved by his coworkers.

Josh was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church in Sheridan, WY, and raised all four of his children in the faith.

He loved spending time in nature and fishing, and spending time with loved ones. He will forever be known for his unshakeable faith, and his uncanny wit. He was a well informed reader, and he was confident in debate, seldom willing to concede.

Josh is survived by his wife of 25 years, Debbie, his four children: Dokken, Reagan, Owen and Aaron; his parents John and Rayna Malmberg, brothers Nathan (Heather) Malmberg and Jeremiah (Keri) Malmberg; brother-in-law David (Kelli) Barrett, in-laws Bill and Terry Barrett, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Holy Name Catholic Church in Sheridan, WY, on Monday, September 14, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. with a reception and interment to follow. A rosary will take place the night before.
