John Bernard Woslager, passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at the age of 102. John was born on January 9, 1924 in Ewing, Nebraska to Alphonse and Kate Woslager. After graduation, and prior to being drafted into the US Army during World War II, he worked for international harvester in Tilden, Nebraska. He served in the United States Army from 1944 to being honorably discharged in 1946. His service to his country included being part of the war campaign in the pacific theater, including specific island incursions.

After moving from Tilden, Nebraska in 1958, starting a business with partners carburetor electric, until closing, then being employed with the city of Sheridan until retirement. He enjoy the passion of fly fishing, camping, hunting, and especially playing league baseball darts on Wednesdays and Sundays for several decades. One of the greatest joys in his life were the many great friends and acquaintances.

John “Rocky” was a lifetime member of the VFW, American Legion, Knights of Columbus, and the Sheridan Elks. He was a devoted member for his life in Sheridan, WY attending Holy Name Catholic Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents, his loving wife, Betty, his four sisters, and five brothers, and grandson Scott Hahlund.

He was survived by his two daughters, Virginia Nishoff and Cheryl Sanderson, both of Sheridan; son-in-law Dirk Sanderson; four grandchildren; Shawn Haglund, Tanya Carroll husband Neal, Jason Sanderson, wife, Julie and Kyan Sanderson and great grandchildren Fischer, Abby, Kahlic, and Lily. Last, but not least he was able to meet and enjoy his first Great, great granddaughter Elody Elaine Sanderson.

The Family would appreciate in lieu of flowers, in John’s name donations made to Holy Name Catholic Church or The Lunch Together Program in Sheridan, WY which he truly loved being able to have daily lunches with as many friends and staff.

Champion Kane Funeral Home has been entrusted with local arrangements.

A rosary will be held on Monday, January 19, 2026, at 10:00 am at Holy Name Catholic Church, with Mass at 10:30 am with Military honors. A Reception will take place at the Parish Hall following mass. Interment will be in the Elks section of the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.
