View Service Folder|Click for Video Tribute John “Jack” Sorvik, 86, of Sheridan passed on Saturday, May 25, 2019 peacefully at his home with his loving wife and family by his side. He was born on May 18, 1933 in Jamestown, ND to parents Harold Eppesgard and Nina (Byington) Sorvik. He moved to Sheridan in 1943. He graduated from Sheridan High School in 1951 and attended Sheridan College when it was at the Girls School.Jack married Peggy Baertsch in Des Moines, IA on November 25, 1976. He enjoyed the great outdoors, gardening, especially pulling weeds, fishing, music and he was very active in the community. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, and son, Kelly, siblings; Harriett Axtell, Harold Sorvik, Jr. and Marilyn Sorvik Nash. He is survived by his wife, Peggy, children; Beth (Rick) Williams, Debra Montgomery, Meg Montgomery, Joe (Georjean) Montgomery, 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. A Celebration of Jack\'s life will be held at 10:00 Thursday, May 30, 2019 at St. Peter\'s Episcopal Church with Father R.J. Johnson and Reverend Don Derryberry officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Peter\'s Episcopal Church, 1 S. Tschirgi St., Sheridan, WY 82801 or to the Anne Carlsen Center, 701 3rd St. NW, Jamestown, ND 58401.Kane Funeral Home has been entrusted with local arrangements.
