Jayme Dawn Scott, 83, of Sheridan, Wyoming passed away peacefully on Wednesday June 17, 2026 at Green House Living For Sheridan. Jayme Was born March 30, 1943 at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas to Thurman and Edith Scott. She was joined later by brothers Martin and Gordon. The family moved several times while Thurman was in the Army before settling in San Antonio, Texas in 1951.
In high school Jayme developed a life long friendship with Judy Jenkins. They were neighbors and have children the same age. Whether talking on the phone or writing letters, they were always close. Jayme’s cousins, Linda Blaskowski, Clara Ann Olson and one time sister in law Sharron Scott were just as close. These four ladies had many adventures with Jayme. She thought of them as sisters.
On April 13, 1962 Jayme married Wayne Bruney. They were blessed with two children, Kimberly and Jason. She was athletic and enjoyed many sports. In 1976, she won the women’s Texas State horseshoe pitching tournament, a feat she was very proud of. After her divorce from Wayne in 1980, Jayme went to school and became an LPN. She worked several places in her nursing career, most in the hill country of Texas, before retiring in 2009 in Brookings, Oregon. From 1984 to 1993 Jayme was remarried. They liked to travel, snowski and square dance. After retirement, Jayme moved to Sheridan to be close to her son’s family. She enjoyed attending all her grandson’s various sporting events and activities.
Jayme fought Dementia and Alzheimer’s for several years, spending her last year at Green House Living For Sheridan where she shared stories of the state of Texas and her nursing career with anyone who would listen.
Jayme was proceeded in death by her parents Thurman and Edith. She is survived by Daughter Kimberly of San Antonio, Texas, Son Jason (Janelle) of Sheridan, Wyoming. Grandson’s Colbey, of Belgrade, Montana, Dayton (Karlee) of Sheridan, Wyoming, Logan (Sam) of Riverdale, Utah, Great Grandson Ryland of Sheridan, Wyoming. Brothers Martin (Terri) of Boerne, Texas, Gordon of Rockport, Texas, Cousin’s Linda (Don) of New Braunfels,Texas, Clara Ann of Brownsville, Texas, Friends Sharron of San Antonio, Texas, Judy (John) of Comfort, Texas.
Even though Jayme lived in Sheridan, she was a Texan in her heart. She loved Jesus, her family and friends, cacti, dachshunds and learning about animals.
