About:

James “Jim” Oscar Malles went home to be with the Lord on Monday October 21st. He was a man of integrity and great strength. Anyone who knew him knew how important his faith in God was to him. He put God first in everything that he did, and his faith never wavered. His first loved was followed closely by his second, his family. Jim was the father of three, a grandfather to eight and a great grandfather to five. His wife of 58 years, Sandra was his faithful, dedicated companion and stood by his side through all the ups and downs of life. He always called her “my girl”.

James was born in Cochrane, Wisconsin on July 10, 1939 to Genevieve and Oscar Malles. In 1974 he moved to Sheridan with his beloved wife and three girls. He worked as the weed and pest supervisor for many years until he moved back to Wisconsin. Upon returning to Sheridan, he worked at the water treatment plant until he and his wife opened their own business “Dollar Wise”, the first dollar store in Wyoming. He retired in 2011 and was able to enjoy the beauty of the city and the big horn mountains that he loved so much.

Jim loved to hunt and would get his elk license every year up until the age of 83. He and his wife enjoyed their time in the mountains together making lifelong memories. They even got lost once and were forced to spend the night together, huddled around a small fire. Jim was also a diehard Green Bay Packer Fan proudly sporting his hats, jackets, wallets, keychains and anything that he could find with the big “G” logo.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife Sandra, daughters Kimberly Medina (Ben) and Kori Kosma (Joe JR), his grandchildren Ryan, James, McKailyn, Dillon, Isaac, Reuben, and Cassandra, his great grandchildren Adrian, Aarron, Anniah, Jensen, and Logan.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents Genevieve and Oscar, his daughter Kristine Brown, his granddaughter Morgan Balmaceda, his sisters Gloria, Geraldine, and Sherry.
