Inez Marie Kennedy Hoblit passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021. She was 103 years old.Inez was born on April 20, 1917 in Cedarvale, KS to Clarence and Alice Kennedy. She moved to Gillette, WY with her parents when she was 7 years old. There she went to Country Grade School north of Recluse, WY then went on to Gillette High School. She married Eugene (Gene) D. Hoblit on July 2, 1935 in Gillette. Together they had a 1,200 section ranch north of Recluse, WY from 1949 to 1954. Because of Gene\'s bad heart, they sold the ranch in 1954 and bought 80 acres in Big Horn, WY. She and Gene had 7 children. Gene passed away on January 11, 1985. Inez worked at the Wyoming Girls School as head matron for years. She was very active and enjoyed gardening, quilting, and running errands for her children. She was also very active in her church.Inez was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Alice Kennedy, husband Gene and four of their seven children: Donna Jean Molen, Sharon Kay Hoblit, James Anson Hoblit, and Janet Loree Landry.She is survived by three daughters, Anita Joy Cooper and Linda Faye Shaw of Sheridan, WY and Alice M. Moorison of Newcastle, WY as well as 22 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.Public viewing Thursday, January 7, 2021 from 2 -4 PM at Kane Funeral Home, with Interment in the Big Horn Cemetery Friday, January 8, 2021, at 10:00 AM.
