Harry Walton Cosner, 94, passed away May 31, 2019 at Greenhouse Living. Harry was born April 21, 1925 in Malta, MT to Rubye Lorrain (Stewart) and Clarence William Cosner. His family moved toBozeman, MT where he was raised with two brothers, Don and Clarence (Biddo). Harry proudly served in the Navy during World War II from 1943 to 1946. When he returned home, he attended MontanaState University and graduated in 1951 with an Industrial Engineering degree.Harry married Mary Theresa (Long) from Anaconda, MT on August 1, 1953. They had twins, Jim and Marian, in 1954 and a daughter, Diane, in 1956. They raised their children primarily in Riverton, WY.Harry worked for several different mining companies over the years before retiring as General Mine Manager at Cyprus Copper Company in Bagdad, AZ.Harry and Theresa moved to Sheridan, WY in 1992. Harry enjoyed skiing, fishing, hunting, horseback riding, training retriever dogs, training horses, and playing card games. He also liked poetry and wouldoften recite The Raven and Annabel Lee by Edgar Allen Poe. Harry was grateful for the love and care he received at Watt Cottage and for the family atmosphere at Greenhouse Living.Harry was preceded in death by his wife in 2002, his parents, and his two brothers. He is survived by his children: Jim (Debbie) Cosner, Marian (Richard) Day, and Diane (Jim) Schmidt, nine grandchildren,and eleven great-grandchildren.A viewing will be held at Kane Funeral Home from 5:00-6:00 p.m. on Thursday June 6, 2019. The funeral will be held at St. Peter's Episcopal Church on Friday June 7, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. Internment withmilitary honors will follow at Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.Kane Funeral Home has been entrusted with local arrangements.
