In 1953 after living through the war - at the age of 17 he immigrated with his parents and 3 brothers to the United States under the provision of the Red Cross. Las Vegas, NV was his first home in the United States. There he met the love of his life, Darlene, raised his family of 7 kids, worked as a Painting and Drywall contractor, farmed and most of all planted churches, sang and led worship music in the services and spread the love of Jesus to many people. While ministering there they helped to build Red Hills Baptist Church in Enoch, Utah and served in many leadership and teaching positions. They also loved to sing together at church. Then they made the move to Sheridan Wyoming to live closer to some of their children and grandchildren. Attending Sheridan Wesleyan Church they quickly fell in love with Wyoming and her people. Harald, known as Papa, walked regularly down Main Street, had daily coffee with the guys at Java Moon and Red Velvet and enjoyed company at the library and Senior Center.
