About:
Genevieve Ann (Kane) Hendrickson
March 31, 1930, to August 27, 2024
“The vibrancy of a well-lived life never fades.”
Genevieve (“Gigi”), a beloved mother, grand and great-grandmother, and aunt, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2024, in Sheridan, Wyoming with her loving family by her side. Gigi spent much of her youth enjoying life on the Kane ranch located in Wolf, Wyoming. Following graduation from high school, she graduated from Carroll College’s nursing program in 1951 and then graduated from The Saint Mary College of nursing in 1953. Subsequently, Gigi accepted nursing assignments in Montana and then the V.A. Hospital in Sheridan, Wyoming. Following the conclusion of her formal nursing career, those skills were often and aptly applied in the raising of her family.
On January 23, 1954, Gigi married the love of her life Don Hendrickson. Together, they lovingly raised six children and, in the process, installed in them a deep appreciation for the importance of family and faith. Their home was filled with warmth and joy, consistently the center of activity for extended family and friends. All were welcome.
Gigi was an incredibly bright woman of deep Catholic faith, immense personal strength and fortitude, and unwavering patience and love. Her example led many people to the Catholic faith. Gigi loved her family and friends with ferocity, was a fierce protector of, and a source of wisdom to them all. Her radiant spirit and caring nature left an undeniable mark on all that knew her.
A selfless individual to a fault, Gigi’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her, but her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. Her laughter, her love of life, and her ability to make everyone feel cherished will be sorely missed but never forgotten.
Gigi’s is survived by her six children, Mark Hendrickson (Tamra), Christy Bradfield (Steve), Laurie Hampton (Jeff), Stacie Huckeba (Randal), Jeff Hendrickson (Jaeger) all of Sheridan and Amy Silvernagel (Kevin) of Billings, Montana. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Gigi is preceded in death by her beloved husband Don, parents Charlie and Lillian Kane, brothers Chas and Kenneth Kane, sister Karolyn Gainan and grandson Drew Bradfield.
As we say goodbye to Gigi, we celebrate the life of a woman who was a beacon of strength, kindness and love. Her legacy is one of unwavering devotion to her family, a testament to the beautiful life she lived, and the countless lives she touched. Gigi's memory will be treasured forever, as we hold her close in our hearts and remember the light she brought into this world.
