Garrett Lynn Myer, age 78, of Decker MT, went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, May 15, 2024. Garrett was born on October 17, 1945, in Bottineau, ND, the son of Johnnie and Patti (Schmitke) Myer. He graduated from Dunseith High School in 1963. After graduation, Garrett farmed, but mainly worked at construction and bridge construction across North Dakota, Wyoming, and eventually Montana. Garrett was employed as a Mechanic for the Spring Creek Coal Mine in Decker, MT for 20 years, retiring in 2008.

Garrett moved to Decker, MT in 1980. There he met Audrey McCarthy, and he would spend the rest of his life with her. They were married on October 29, 1997. In their 43 years together, they enjoyed camping, paddle fishing, playing cards, and hosting numerous visitors – which earned them the titles of ‘The Cook and The Guide.’In addition to being an avid outdoorsman, Garrett loved to tinker around, fixing and building things in his shed. He was very talented at drawing and made beautiful wind chimes. He also collected belt buckles. Most of all, Garrett loved spending time with his family and friends. He had a great sense of humor and always had a good joke or story to share.

Garrett is survived by his wife, Audrey; Children Jim (Julie) Myer and Banner Myer of WI, Patrick McCarthy and Lynda (Bryan) Ristau of FL; Grandchildren Cody (Lisa) Myer, Brady (Caroline) Myer, Ricci (Todd) Laschinger, and Morgan (Anthony) Siewert of WI, Tyson Chase of WY, Danyelle Garey of FL, Jason McCarthy of NV, Cory McCarthy and Tia (Joey) Enbody of WA; 10 Great- Grandchildren; Sister Holly Wheeler of WY, Sister-in-Law Beth Myer of ND, and his best buddy, Bear.  He is preceded in death by his Parents, Son Thomas Allen, Grandson Michael Chase, Brothers Carmen and Mickey Myer, and Brother-in-Law Jim Wheeler.
