Frankie Louise Castleberry, 82 of Gillette, WY, formerly of Broadus, MT, died peacefully in her sleep on February 07, 2019 at the Legacy Living and Rehabilitation Center in Gillette, WY. She was the 5th of 6 children born to the late Abner and Lillian (Glimm) Castleberry on September 14, 1936.Frankie was born in Broadus, MT at Mrs. Turley’s ‘lying in’ home. Her family lived on their ranch on Horse Creek until they moved to Boyes where her parents ran a grocery store and gas station before moving to Broadus to do the same.Frankie went to High School in Broadus, then went on to attend college at Eastern Montana College in Billings, MT (now MSU Billings). She majored in Elementary Education and taught 5th grade for one year in Worden, MT.Frankie married the late John Sindelar in 1957; they were blessed with 4 children. John and Frankie divorced in 1971. In 1973, she married Allen George; they were blessed with 2 children. Allen and Frankie divorced in 2001.Frankie was a substitute teacher for the Campbell County School District for several years. After returning to Broadus, she worked at the Powder River County Sheriff’s Office as a dispatcher until failing health forced her to retire in 2012. She loved her job and the people she worked with. She absolutely loved living in Broadus. She’d brag that there has been a Castleberry or a descendant of a Castleberry in Powder River County for over 100 years. And the legacy continues.Frankie is survived by six children, Patti (Jim) Fall of Sun Lakes, AZ, Teri (Bill) Long of Littleton, CO, Jack (Mary) Sindelar of Gillette, WY, Anna (Rob) Cragoe of Powell, WY, Mike (Teri) George of Broadus, MT and Chuck (Rebecca) George of Kerens, TX, ten grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, brother Bobby (Patty) Castleberry, cousin Charlie (Shirley) Russell, Broadus, MT; and a number of other loving relatives and close friends.Frankie was predeceased by her parents, Abner and Lillian, step father, Lloyd Stringfield, two sisters, Yvonne and Chris, two brothers, Jack and Chuck and two grandchildren, Shiloh and Chanc Price.The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her during her last days. A service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2019, at 11:00 AM at the Powder River Congregational Church, 309 W. Wilson St., Broadus, MT followed by a luncheon. Please join us to laugh, cry and tell stories about Frankie.
