About:

Francis Friedrick Fischer, Born on April 30, 1928 to Ethel and Fred Fischer in Nebraska and was referred by those who loved him as "Fearless" passed peacefully in the early morning hours of March 6th, 2024 at the age of 95 in Portland, Oregon surrounded by his granddaughter Dawn, great granddaughter Natalie and others who loved him dearly. He was a hunting enthusiast, teller of great tales (most of them true) and the best father, grandpa & friend anyone could ask for! He loved to learn and spent most of his life as an educator. From math, english, librarian, speech and debate coach to principal and superintendent - He did it all. Most don't know that he was the first in his family to not only attend college but was only one course shy of his PhD which he chose not to complete so that he could live and work in the small school districts that had the BEST hunting. “Fearless” always kept what mattered most to him in perspective. Hunting, Family and Pie. - Not always exactly in that order To know Frank was to love him. Kindness and good humor were ever present delivered with a playful smile and most likely a pice of life changing advice. “Fearless” loved to tell of his hunting adventures with his siblings, wife, and best friend Bob. Always ready with humor and wisdom, Frank was humble and kind. Over the last six months his eyesight was completely gone and he needed help doing nearly everything. He remained the kindest most loving and grateful man, even in his dinner prayer, “Dear Lord, if you could help me with my eyesight I would be most grateful.” He never gave up and always believed in the power of prayer.Francis is survived by his second wife Lulu, son Larry, sister Linda (husband Everett), brother Robert (wife Carolyn), granddaughter Dawn, and great-granddaughter Natalie. He is predeceased by his first wife (adventure partner and biggest support) Sonia, sister Gene & sister Merle. Graveside services will be held at Sheridan Cemetery, July 13th at 10 am followed by a Pie social. Loved ones are invited to share their stories. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the HUB on Smith & Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation are encouraged. To laugh often and much: To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children, to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others, to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you lived. This is to have succeeded. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson A life lived and loved to the fullest, now polka dancing in heaven. We love you Fearless!
