View Service Folder|Click for Video Tribute Edward Earl Adler, 99, of Sheridan, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2019, at the Sheridan Veterans Medical Center in Sheridan with family by his side. Born in Newton, KS on February 25, 1920 to Martin and Dale Adler. He grew up in Burns, KS on the family farm. He attended Prairie View Country School.He enlisted in the US Army in 1942 and served in the 10th Mountain Division throughout World War II. He saw duty in France, Italy, Germany and the Aleutian Islands before being discharged in 1945.Ed married LaVerne Kellum of Peabody, KS in 1949. They worked at several ranches in the area before moving to Wyoming in 1954. He worked for the Meade Creek Ranch at Banner as foreman for 12 years. He then went to work at the PK Ranch for several years before starting his fencing business. One of his first jobs was at the Wymont Ranch, and then contracted fencing & cowboying for the Texaco Ranch for 30 years.After LaVerne passed away on June 23, 1984, he married Joyce Laird in 1988, Joyce passed away December 2012.Ed is survived by 3 children, Sharon Cunningham (Dale), Gary Adler, and Bill Adler (Antwinnete Elliott, Selena Senna). Three Stepchildren, Janice Scott, Curt Laird, Russell Laird, 5 grandchildren, Kristen Adler (Dan Cummings), Jay Teichert (Monica), Jessie Adler, Burton Adler (Erin), and Casey Teichert (Catherine) and one step grandson, Cody Laird and one great granddaughter, Taylor Nell Teichert.In his spare time, Ed built Spurs and Bits, loved working with his horses and team roping! He was able to rope in the Sheridan County Rodeo for may years, up until he was 89 years old. Was a lifelong member of the Elks Lodge, loved and respected by friends and family. He will be missed greatly by his family.A Celebration of Life with Military Honors will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at Kane Funeral Home with Reverend Kevin Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Elks Memorial Cemetery with a reception will follow at the Elks Lodge.Kane Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
