Dr. Steve “Kit” Carson, 88, of Sheridan, passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at the VA Mountain View Living Center in Sheridan.

Kit was born April 16, 1935 to Homer and Hazel Carson in Merced, California. He met Mary Russo in Dover, Delaware and they were married in Fairbanks, Alaska in 1960. This past July they celebrated 63 years of marriage.

Kit served 4 years in the US Air Force and 4 years in the US Air Force Reserves. He attended Cleveland Chiropractic College, Long Beach State and Modesto College. He had a Chiropractic practice in Huntington, California and then moved to Sheridan, Wyoming in 1984 and opened a practice.

Kit was very involved with the Masons. He was a Potentate of the Kalif Temple, Grand Master of Wyoming in 2001 and Master of Lodge 43 in Sheridan 3 times. He loved to ski, fish, golf, hunt, read and have coffee with his buddies.

Kit is survived by his wife Mary, his children Patricia Carson and Suzy Burgess; grandchildren Winsome Williams, Madison Williams, Alyssa Burgess and Payton Burgess, sister Karolla Montgomery, sister-in-law Norma Carson as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Homer and Hazel Carson and his siblings Homer, Frank, Jeannie and Patricia.

A Celebration Of Life will be held Saturday, August 3, 2024 at 11:00 am at Kane Funeral Home with Masonic Rights, and Military Honors, officiating  Father Joel .A reception will follow in the Kane Reception Hall.
