Donna Mae Jack
About:
Donna Mae Franklin Jack was born June 4, 1939, to Carl Edward and Daisy Carola Ostrum Franklin, in Sheridan, Wyoming. She passed away August 5, 2024, after a long illness, with her daughter by her side.
Donna grew up and attended school in Sheridan, graduating from Sheridan High School in 1957. She returned to Sheridan in 2006 after her husband Edward J. Jack passed away while they were living in Las Vegas, NV. He was in the Army, so they lived in several states and in Germany. When they returned from Germany in the 70s', Donna taught Ines' kids to play penny-ante poker, which is still a favorite memory for them.
Often when Donna was waiting in line she would start a conversation with others around her; she had a special gift of being very friendly, and she could talk to anyone. Donna loved her family and cherished the time she spent with them. During her last months she enjoyed visits with many friends and family. Donna had three close friends from her childhood that she treasured, Johanna Gostas, Ellie Horsley, and Ginny Trujillo.
An avid lover of crossword and jigsaw puzzles, there was hardly a day that went by without solving a puzzle. Another love of Donna's, were her adopted tuxedo cats. She enjoyed being their beloved owner and treasured the years she spent with them. In her earlier years she enjoyed watching cooking shows and was a good cook, she loved baking cookies, sewing, and creating beautiful cross-stitch art for family and friends. As a favorite past time, Donna enjoyed driving to the mountains, having lunch up there and watching the wildlife in the process. Donna also enjoyed reading, especially mysteries. She also spent many years taking water exercise classes and made many good friends in those classes; they remained and close visited her faithfully during her last months.
Her neighbors were wonderful, they visited her; checking in on her to make sure she was okay and helped her in her last days, when needed. She was so thankful for them.
Her daughter Tori came from Las Vegas and spent the last few months with Donna. Donna's nieces and nephews brought joy to her life as they visited and cared for her. They made sure to do the everyday tasks she could no longer handle. While caring for her, they brought her food and flowers. She loved them dearly and was so thankful for them.
Donna appreciated all the Hospice staff that faithfully cared for her during her last days, visiting almost every day to insure she was comfortable. Donna's family is also so thankful for all the loving care she received from friends, neighbors, and Hospice.
Donna is survived by her daughter, Tori (Gary) Flory Wagner, granddaughter, Brooke (Randy) Chartrand, her great- granddaughter Aubree, sisters Wyoma Olver, Ines Olver, and Daisy (Robert) Radar, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, and her brothers, Robert Lee Franklin, Charles Flory, Carl Edward Franklin and her sister Montana “Tana” Daisy Flory Bradley.
Donna's wishes were to be cremated. She wanted to be buried with her Daddy, therefore she will be inurned with him after the service.
