Dawn passed away at her home on June 12, 2019 in Sheridan, WY.Dawn was born in Vancouver, Washington on August 7, 1958. She attended Walnut Grove Elementary School and graduated from Fort Vancouver High School. After high school, Dawn worked at Woodside Manor as a psychiatric technician. She then moved to Washington, D.C. where she stayed with Leonard and Estella Hendrickson who were a strong influence to her Christianity. She returned to Vancouver and worked at Elahan Place as part of a mental health crisis team. Dawn moved to Sheridan, Wyoming in 2011 and worked for the VOA.Dawn loved helping people. Though Dawn never had children of her own, she was called “Mommy Dawn” by her nieces and nephews. She was very loved by all the little ones and took such good care of them. Dawn’s faith was always first and foremost. She was never afraid to remind her nieces ad nephews that their Christianity was the most precious thing we have. Dawn was very patriotic and loved horses. She was known for her handwritten kind, sincere words that were sent in the form of cards or letters. Everyone knew you could count on Dawn. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Richard and Wilma Cochran. Thankful for having shared her life are her brother, Roy Cochran of Sheridan and sisters Terri Cochran of Sheridan , Tracy (Carl) Bong of Kalama, Washington. Nieces and nephews Grant Nelson, Joey O’Neill, Ryan O’Neill, Jason Nelson, Jenifer Villanueva, Erin Cochran, Katie Nelson, Curtis Cochran, and Paige Klein.A viewing will be 6 to 7 PM, Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at the Old Apostolic Church. A funeral service will be 10 AM, Thursday, June 20, 2019 at the Old Apostolic Church with Joel Hendrickson and Drew Redinger officiating. Burial will follow in the Juniper Heights section of the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.Kane Funeral Home has been entrusted with local arrangements.
