Daniel E. Adsit
About:
Daniel Edward Adsit, 66, of Sheridan went to his heavenly home on October 6, 2018, after a brief battle with kidney cancer. He was born on January 1, 1952, being the New Year\'s baby for Sheridan in that year. He was the third child born to the late Harold Ira Adsit and Mary Josephine Wall.Dan, beginning at birth, faced many challenges. Having been born with a problem with his optic nerve in one eye and the other being lazy, he had to overcome sight issues all his life, but he was a problem solver. He met the challenge when he was told he would never drive and during all his adult life he had a driver\'s license. As a tiny child he contracted polio which weakened the right side of his body. But he desired to keep up with his older siblings, so he perservered and learned to walk. He was run over by a truck as a little boy and overcame that. All his life he pushed himself to be better and do more. He always loved being independent and doing things his way, so having his own construction company was a perfect fit for him. The company went through many highs and lows along the way, but Dan never gave up. He was still running the business until the cancer took over. That was his last big battle in life but, by the time it was discovered, all his energy and determination couldn\'t overcome. Due to his great faith and knowledge of Jesus Christ and the plan of salvation, Dan knew his next step on his path through the eternities would lead him to much greater joy and love and happiness than he could ever have experienced on this earth. He was at peace when he had his last days, knowing there would soon be a glorious reunion with loved ones passed on and with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.Dan was married and sealed for time and all eternity to Virginia Leigh Smith (Ginger) on November 28, 1975, in the Ogden Temple. They had seven sons and one daughter. Their family moved to various places ending back in Sheridan where his life came to an end.Dan was grateful for all the many people he met in his life as a contractor. He had many choice experiences with many different types of personalities.Dan is survived by Ginger, his loving wife of almost 43 years; his sons: David (Linsdsay), JD, Matt (Starla), Adam (Casey), Nathan, Jeremiah and Luke and his daughter, Sarah (Steven). He also left behind two brothers, Tom (Kristy) and Mike (Robyn) and one sister, Martha (Bob) and five grandchildren, Ethan, Annabelle, Emma, Jackson and Alex.Preceding him in death are his parents and two sisters, Judith and Margaret. At Dan\'s request, there will be a private dedication of the grave with family members only at Sheridan Municiple Cemetery.
