Charlotte Jeannette Zowada, 90, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2019 in the early evening at Westview Health Care Center, Sheridan, Wyoming. Jeannette, as she was usually referred to, was born to Lawrence Shell and Elizabeth Roark Shell along with her twin sister Madge on March 5, 1929 in Sheridan.In Jeannette\'s early years the Shell family of 6 boys and twin girls lived in eastern Sheridan County. Father Lawrence was a ranch hand and foreman for Dr. Wheden and managed his place north of Leiter, Wyoming. Later on, the family moved to Wolf, Wyoming about 10 miles west of Sheridan, where Jeannette\'s parents both worked for the Kane ranch. Her father was a foreman and her mom was a cook. While in Wolf she attended school in Dayton until her sophomore year. Then her parents boarded her and her sister with a family in Sheridan where they continued their education at Sheridan High School.On June 28, 1947 Jeannette married Edward M. Zowada of Acme. They spent the next 67 years together until Eddie\'s death in 2014, spending a majority of their time in Acme raising their two children, Sharon and Dennis. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, taking care of family pets and most recently became a Colorado Rockies Baseball fan. As well as living in Acme, the couple spent a number of years living in Dietz, Wyoming and eventually moved to Sheridan in 1997. The past three years were probably the most comforting years of her life living at Heritage Towers, taking care of her favorite poodle Sugar and getting to know a number of residents, which she referred to as her “Friends”. The family will be forever grateful to the staff and residents of Heritage Towers.Jeannette was preceded in death by her husband Eddie, sister, five brothers and son-in-law David Robin. She is survived by her daughter Sharon Robin of Fremont, NE, and son Dennis Zowada (Bonnie) of Sheridan. Her five grandchildren are: David Robin (Heather) – Elkhorn, NE; Michelle Troge (Matt) – Bellevue, NE; Brian Zowada (Amber) – Cheyenne, WY; Bret Zowada (Joni) – Sheridan, WY; and Paul Zowada (Terra) – Casper, WY; nine wonderful great grandchildren and brother George Shell (Margaret) - Apache Junction, AZ.A graveside service will be help Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 11:00 am, with a reception to follow at the Kane Reception Hall.Kane Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
