Anna M. Landon
About:
Anna Mae Landon, 93, of Sheridan, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2019 at the Green House Living for Sheridan. Ann was born in Canton, OK on August 12, 1925, to Isabel and Cecil Willis. Her childhood was spent in Indiana, growing up with a brother and sister who shared their love of playing outdoors and swimming in a local lake. Her family returned to their roots in Oklahoma in 1943. She entered St. Anthony School of Nursing. During her last year of nursing school, through mutual friends she met Jack Landon. They were married in 1948. Career interests were superseded by family interests when her husband\'s career as a geologist and miner required many moves. The moves brought challenges and interesting adventures that provided a full and rewarding life. She enabled family harmony, education, outings, travel, game playing and popcorn every Sunday night. After her children were on their own and yet another move from Wyoming, she graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Liberal Studies degree.Upon her husband\'s retirement in 1982, they made their last move to Sheridan to be near children and grandchildren. From home base she and her husband continued to travel and spend times with old friends and new. Family was the focal point of her life. The pleasure of reading, new ideas and experiences, and the joy of friends expanded it. She loved the out of doors, from a walk around the block to a hike in the Big Horns. Faith in God and the assurance of His presence gave meaning to her life.Anna was a great listener; compassionate, kind, and modest. She brought forth the best in those around her by believing the best of them. She laughed easily and brought comfort and joy with her presence. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack.
